IMPHAL: Skeletal remains of a 19-year-old youth, who went missing and was presumed to be killed last May, when ethnic clashes broke out in Manipur, were found in a village in Chandel district, bordering Myanmar, on Wednesday, reports K Sarojkumar Sharma.
The family of the victim, Ngangom Nevy of Sugnu Awang Leikai in the valley district of Kakching, had filed a missing complaint at Sugnu police station on May 31, 2023.On June 28, the bereaved family, assuming the youth was dead, had performed his last rites.
On Tuesday, a video of Ngangom’s killing went viral on social media, after which Kakching police carried out a massive search operation, and found his skeletal remains near a primary school at Sokom village on Wednesday afternoon.
