And then India looked set to hammer in the advantage with the partnership between Jaiswal and Gill. But two overs of silly cricket (you have to call it that, given the circumstances of the day, the Test and the series), and suddenly NZ finish the day the happier side, and dare I say, in a better position on a turning surface. Henry got the Rohit Sharma wicket and then with his arm also got Virat Kohli out. Ajaz Patel was expensive but made up with two wickets late. Gill looked good on 31* as did Jaiswal (30) before his dmissal, but the star batters of the day were Will Young (71) and Daryl Mitchell (82) who controlled proceedings in the afternoon to ensure NZ got to a respectable total in the end.
