NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon the nation to actively participate in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, making it a memorable mass movement as India approaches its 77th Independence Day.
In a symbolic gesture, PM Modi changed his profile picture to the national flag and encouraged others to follow suit.
“As this year’s Independence Day approaches, let’s again make Har Ghar Tiranga a memorable mass movement.I am changing my profile picture and I urge you all to join me in celebrating our Tricolour by doing the same. And yes, do share your selfies on harghartiranga.com,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
During the 112th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on July 28, the Prime Minister highlighted the increasing trend of people taking selfies with the national flag and sharing them on social media platforms.
He called upon party leaders and workers to ensure that the tricolor is hoisted on houses, offices, and shops across the country.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, initiated in 2021, is an integral part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. It aims to instill a sense of patriotism among the people and raise awareness about the Indian National Flag, encouraging them to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it proudly.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a government initiative commemorating 75 years of India’s independence, celebrating the nation’s rich history, diverse culture, and remarkable achievements. This Mahotsav recognizes the instrumental role of the Indian people in the country’s evolutionary journey and their potential to realize PM Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, driven by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
