Indian troops deployed in Abyei, Africa, conducted a comprehensive awareness session on pregnancy for the women of Rumajak village as part of an outreach initiative under the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA). The session saw the participation of 24 women and 9 girls from the local community.
The session was led by Captain Jaspreet Kaur of the Female Engagement Team and Major Abhijith S, Medical Officer of the Indian Battalion.It focused on essential practices for a safe and healthy pregnancy, covering topics such as nutritional guidelines, common health risks, and the importance of prenatal care.
This effort is part of the Indian Battalion’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and delivering humanitarian aid in Abyei, aligning with the broader UN mandate to promote peace, stability, and well-being in the region.
