KALYAN: In response to Nationalist Congress Party -Sharad Pawar faction leader Jitendra Awhad‘s recent statement on Bhagwan Shri Ram, Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr Shrikant Shinde slammed Awhad and advised him to instead of speaking on Hindu gods, Awhad should give pravachan in his assembly constituency on his favorite topics like Aurangzeb, Afzal Khan and Khilji.
In Kalyan and Ulhasnagar, a cleanliness drive has been started by the local civic bodies under the state government’s Deep Clean cleanliness campaign on Friday.
Shrikant Shinde, who came as a guest in this program, said while talking to the journalists that Awhad is a habitual offender who deliberately makes fun of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
Shrikant Shinde said according to my knowledge, Awhad has done PhD on some subject. I think he should use his education to study his favorite people i.e. Aurangzeb, Afzal Khan, Khilji, Mughals. I think he will also have knowledge about these subjects.
Hence, he should go to his assembly constituency i.e. Mumbra and give a pravachan about all these people. Awhad should not speak about Hindus, especially about Hindu festivals and Hindu deities. I think the government should also take strict action against them.
It may be recall that Awhad is an MLA from Mumbra area which is considered a Muslim dominated area. That’s why Shrikant Shinde has given such a statement taking a sarcasm on them.
Awhad over criticism on Thursday while addressing press conference had said, “I have made my statements (about Lord Ram being a non -vegetarian) based on solid proofs and documents. Those criticising me should read Ayodhya Kanda of Valmiki Ramayana where all the details would be found. I don’t speak without evidence. However, if someone is hurt over my statement then I express regret”.
