NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Friday granted interim bail to RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi and their daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav till February 28 in the rail land-for-jobs case of 2004-2009 when he was railway minister.
Rabri, a former Bihar CM, appeared before the Rouse Avenue Court along with her daughters. Special judge Vishal Gogne granted relief to the three after ED claimed it needed time to file arguments on their regular bail pleas. The three were asked to furnish personal bonds and sureties of Rs 1 lakh each. Another person named in the case, Hridyanand Chaudhary, was also given bail.
The move follows ED filing its first chargesheet — of over 4,500 pages — naming Rabri, Hema, Misa, Amit Katyal (an alleged aide of Lalu), and two companies — AK Infosystems and AB Exports.
