Jasprit Bumrah on Thursday returned to the playing XI for India for the third Test against England at Lord’s. He replaced Prasidh Krishna.
The Indian pace spearhead was rested for the second game of the five-match series in Birmingham, which India won by 336 runs and registered its first victory at the venue.
In his absence, Akash Deep stepped up and claimed a 10-wicket haul. Mohammed Siraj too picked a fifer in the first innings.
Bumrah featured in the opening Test of the series, where he picked a five wicket haul (5/83) in the first innings.
India head coach Gautam Gambhir had indicated before the start of this series that Bumrah would feature in only three games in this series after he had suffered a stress fracture in his back after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
