In a fiery tweet on Saturday, Donald Trump Jr, son of former US President Donald Trump and current Republican presidential nominee, took a sharp jab at Kamala Harris. He speculated whether she would show up in the presidential debate against his father on Fox News or “be a coward and back out.”
Trump Jr didn’t hold back in his criticism, referencing his father’s recent decision to join presidential debate with Joe Biden on CNN, which he derisively labelled as “Fake CNN.” The debate took place on June 27.This comes after President Biden withdrew his Democratic presidential nomination, adding another layer to the political drama.
“My father already did a debate with Fake News CNN, so is Kamala going to accept the debate with Fox News? Or is she going to be a coward and back out?” Trump Jr tweeted, challenging Harris’s willingness to engage in the debate.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has proposed a debate with his Democratic counterpart, Kamala Harris, on Fox News on September 4.
The Harris campaign has not yet confirmed the event. According to Trump, the debate rules will be similar to the first debate with President Joe Biden, who has since dropped his reelection bid. This time, however, the debate would feature a “full arena audience” and take place in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.
The Harris campaign has declined to comment on the proposed debate, and Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Moreover, Trump and Biden had agreed to a second debate on September 10 on ABC News, which Trump suggested should be moved to Fox News.
Trump’s proposal for the debate on Fox came shortly after the Democratic National Committee launched an advertising campaign on Friday taunting him by saying “the convicted felon is afraid to debate” and questioning whether that is due to his stance on abortion.
Following Biden’s withdrawal from the race on July 21 and his endorsement of Harris, Trump initially said he would not debate her because she was not the official candidate.
