Jangpura, situated within South Delhi’s upscale district, represents one of the 70 assembly seats in Delhi’s legislative framework. The constituency encompasses Jangpura and its extensions, bordered by Mathura Road, Ring Railway Line, Defence Colony Flyover area, Silver Oak Park, and Barapulla drain.
For 2025, key contenders include Manish Sisodia from AAP) Tarvinder Singh Marwah from BJP), Farhad Suri from Congress, along with candidates from smaller parties and independents including Rakesh Sagar (Blue India Party), Ravindra Singh Raviyodaya (BSP), Bijender (Haryana Jansena Party), Ashok Bambani and Sunil Kumar Kukreja (Independents), and Anil Kumar (Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party).
The 2020 elections saw AAP’s Praveen Kumar winning with 45,133 votes, leading BJP’s Impreet Singh Bakshi (29,070 votes) and Congress’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah (13,565 votes). Similarly in 2015, Kumar secured victory with 43,927 votes against BJP’s Maninder Singh Dhir (23,477) and Congress’s Marwah (22,662).
In 2015 assembly elections, AAP had also won the seat, with Praveen Kumar winning 43,927 votes, while BJP’s Maninder Singh Dhir and Congress’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah received 23,477 and 22,662 votes respectively.
