After making his film debut with The Archies, Vedang Raina made his theatrical debut with Jigra. Considering that the role required him to showcase intense emotions, the actor has been receiving love wherein many have appreciated his talent of emoting and for holding his own as he plays this role alongside popular actress Alia Bhatt. Meanwhile, one particular scene that has garnered attention is an emotionally charged whiplashing sequence.

In fact, Vedang Raina insisted that this sequence pushed him to his limits as an actor. Reflecting on the scene, the newbie actor shared, “The lashing scene was tricky, but Vasan Bala sir gave me some really great advice right before the scene, which made my approach clearer. It was still very hard to put my mind through that. I’m happy that there was appreciation for that scene!” The intensity of the moment required Vedang to tap into a deeper emotional level as he was expected to convey vulnerability, pain, and resilience in this highlight moment of the film.

Beyond this particular scene, Vedang expressed how transformative the entire ‘Jigra’ experience has been for him. “Jigra changed my life way before it was even released,” he revealed. “I’m just grateful I was part of this project and got to work alongside some really great minds. I feel blessed to be in this position so early in my career and at such a young age”, he added.

Jigra is directed by Vasan Bala and co-produced by Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner along with Alia Bhatt under her production house Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film revolves around a loving and protective sister who goes to extreme lengths to protect her brother from death sentence. The film released in theatres on October 11.
