The 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards, which took place on November 29 in KBS Hall, Yeouido in Seoul, turned into one of the venues where elderly actor Jung Woo Sung listened to all criticisms against his personal life lately.
In the midst of many speculations whether he would actually be attending the ceremony, Jung Woo Sung surprised many to appear by the side of actor Hwang Jung Min to take their Most-Viewed Film award for their hit blockbuster ‘12.12: The Day‘, which racked up over 13 million viewers. The actor appeared with a more somber look, expressing gratitude for his recognition and trying to say sorry to the headlines into his private life.
Firstly, I’d like to thank all the people who supported ‘12.12: The Day’. It is such a privilege to stand before you all, and I would hate my personal life to take away from the film or the effort put into the film by everyone, Jung said.
He further stated, “I am deeply sorry for any concern and disappointment this may have caused those who supported me over the years. I will take all criticisms with humility and accept full responsibility. As a father, I shall sincerely dedicate myself to my duty toward my son.”
The controversy emerged on November 24 when Jung Woo Sung confirmed the news that he is a biological father to a child model Moon Ga Bi. It came after model Moon Ga Bi posted an honest post on Instagram announcing the arrival of her newborn son. Jung’s agency, Artist Company, verified the reports, stating that the actor is devoted to his parentage and is focusing on adequate childcare arrangements.
Since then, the reports have shown a complicated dynamic between Jung and Moon Ga Bi. ‘Dispatch’ reported that they met in 2022 and kept in touch up until her pregnancy mid-2023. However, while Moon reportedly hoped for marriage, Jung opposed this idea, which has raised mixed reactions from the public.
Further complicating matters, ‘Tenasia’ reported on November 25 that Jung has been in a serious relationship with a non-celebrity woman for over a year, a detail that allegedly came to light during Moon Ga Bi’s pregnancy. Leaked photos of Jung with another woman have fueled speculation, though his agency has declined to verify their authenticity.
