Kareena Kapoor Khan recalls her string of flops before Jab We Met: “I used to cry before going to sleep”

In a recent podcast interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Kareena opened up about the tumultuous phases she endured in her career, particularly recalling the period before the release of Jab We Met. “I used to cry before going to sleep,” she revealed.

Refusing to let her struggles define her, she maintained a facade of composure, shielding others from the inner turmoil she grappled with. “I never let anybody feel it,” she remarked.

Recognizing the need for a reset, she made the bold choice to step away from the limelight for a year, reevaluating her career trajectory and recalibrating her approach to selecting roles. “I had said no to so many films, and I was at home because so many films were not doing well,” she shared.

Talking about a piece of advice she would like to give the character Geet, she said that the character’s innocence attracted the audience. She said, “This longevity is because she did everything and thought so much from her heart ke aaj kal log dimaag se sochte hain, jo karna chahiye kabhi kabhi life mein but Geet jaisa jo apne dil se sochti hai hamesha woh aaj kal (People in today’s world think from their brains which is important at times but Geet always thought from her heart) you don’t see even in the Gen Zs.”

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen in Crew with Tabu and Kriti Sanon. Starring alongside Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma, the film is set to release on March 29, 2024.
