NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal signalled the driver to hit us, said the victims who got injured after being allegedly hit by former chief minister’s car. The three injured said that they wanted to talk to the AAP chief about jobs when the incident occurred.
“I am a resident of the (New Delhi) constituency. We just went there to ask him about jobs. Arvind Kejriwal signalled the driver of the car to hit us,” said Vishal, one of the injured.
“He (Arvind Kejriwal) signalled the driver to hit us. I have been injured. Three people have been injured…I am a voter of this (New Delhi) constituency,” said another injured Rohit.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Parvesh Verma met with the victims at the Lady Hardinge Medical College. Verma is a candidate from the New Delhi constituency for the upcoming Delhi polls. Further, the injured youth are voters from the same constituency.
This came after AAP accused Parvesh Verma’s goons of attacking Kejriwal’s car with stones. Terming the allegations “baseless”, Verma said that the three youths had attempted to ask the ex-CM about jobs when they were harassed by Punjab police and hit by his car.
“Punjab Police beat them up, broke a worker’s phone, and Kejriwal’s car hit the three youths. The driver applied brakes, but Kejriwal signaled the driver to crush them. This is an attempt to murder,” he said.
Meanwhile, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar criticised the Election Commission for keeping their “eyes shut” and called for an immediate action into the matter.
“Today again BJP goons attacked Arvind Kejriwal, who was campaigning in New Delhi Vidhan Sabha, with stones. When Parvesh Verma was campaigning on the ground there, he was stunned to see that even after distributing so much money and doing all the black deeds, the public is with Arvind Kejriwal. This attack is extremely condemnable. The Election Commission does not want a peaceful election to take place in the New Delhi Assembly. Its eyes are shut… Immediate action should be taken on this. I hope the eyes of the Election Commission and the Delhi Police will open,” she said.
Authorities have yet to confirm the specifics of the incident. As campaigning heats up for the New Delhi assembly seat, the incident has further heightened tensions, fueling clashes between both parties over the allegations.
