Dharma Productions has officially unveiled the first-look motion posters of Kesari Chapter 2, a historical courtroom drama based on the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, which chronicles the legal battle led by Sir C. Sankaran Nair against the British Raj, brings together a never-seen-before casting coup of Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan.

On March 28, the motion posters introduced the lead cast, offering audiences a glimpse into their powerful portrayals. While it is known that Akshay Kumar will essay the role of C. Sankaran Nair, the former Advocate-General of Madras and a key figure in India’s freedom struggle, Ananya Panday appears as Dilreet Gill and R. Madhavan plays Neville McKinley. British actor Simon Paisley Day steps into the role of General Reginald Dyer, the officer responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
Earlier this week, the teaser of Kesari Chapter 2 was unveiled giving a glimpse of Kumar in his power-packed avatar all set to take on the British Empire, generating anticipation for the film’s portrayal of one of India’s most significant legal battles. The movie, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, was officially announced in November 2024 and has been in production since November 2022.
Set against the backdrop of colonial India, Kesari Chapter 2 focuses on the life of C. Sankaran Nair, who resigned from his position as a member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council in protest of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Determined to seek justice, he took the fight to the courtroom, challenging British rule through legal means.
The unveiling of the motion posters has intensified interest in the film, with fans eager to see how the historical events and courtroom proceedings will be depicted on screen. With a strong ensemble cast and a compelling storyline, Kesari Chapter 2 aims to shed light on a lesser-known chapter of India’s struggle for independence. While the trailer release date is yet to be revealed, the film is set to release in theatres on April 18.
