Kill had a reasonable first week at the box office when it brought in Rs. 11.36 crores. Since the weekdays were quite stable, there were expectations that the second weekend will start on a fair note as well despite the release of Sarfira and Hindustani 2. Yes, there is Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) playing as well, which means showcasing was always going to be a challenge for the film. Still, since Kill had managed to create some space at least for itself even in a niche space, there were expectations of some sort of a hold.
Well, this is what has happened as even on its second Friday, the film managed to bring in Rs. 1 crore*. This is relief indeed since there is a psychological advantage when a film continues to collect in crores and considering the fact that the opening Friday was Rs. 1.35 crore, the number which has come on the second Friday conveys good stability. As a matter of fact, the fall from the day before isn’t much either since Thursday collections had stood at Rs. 1.22 crores.
Last Saturday, the film had jumped to Rs. 2.22 crores and if it actually goes past the Rs. 2 crores mark today then that would be good indeed. In fact, it will place it really well for a lifetime of over Rs. 20 crores, which would be fair. So far, the Lakshya starred has collected Rs. 12.26 crores* and while Rs. 16 crores would be comfortably crossed by the close of second weekend, one waits to see how much further to that does it travel in days to come.
