Krissann Barretto recently had a candid conversation with Shardul Pandit on his podcast where she opened up about her bond with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She even shared how she had gotten trolled for speaking up for the Pavitra Rishta actor, risking her career and more.
Krissann talks about Animal Communication, ‘A friend of mine told me about it, and the first time she told me, I was like, why didn’t I know this earlier. It is not something out of this world. It is a skill that you and I already have. It is called telepathy. Humans are born with it. Over the years, because we have language, we don’t use that skill anymore. You get into a meditative state, you need to know exactly what the animal, I have communicated with an elephant, a lot of cats and dogs and also a plant.’
She further said, “There is a course, and the teacher that I did this with is associated with the government of India and they help in finding the lost animals and also communicate it with the service dogs to solve the crime scenes. You need the animal owner’s consent, and you are not allowed to use this practice for your gains.”
Shardul asked whether Krissann had tried to communicate with Sushant Singh Rajput’s dog, and she said, “No, meri kabhi himmat hi nahi hui hai. I don’t think I will be able to.” Krissann further opened up about getting trolled for talking about Sushant and sharing her emotions for her close friend, “As an actor, I feel especially it’s the thing in India. If you are an actor, you can’t grieve. If your friend has passed away, you don’t get time to grieve for it. People’s perception is that you are an actor that you are acting even when your friend has passed away. There is no thing that her friend has passed, they are going to feel something. If you don’t post, they say post nahi kar rahi, if you do, then they call you attention seeking. There is a reason why people didn’t post much about it: it came with risk, and yes, I took that risk. I risked my career and my life to talk about Sushant. If your friend passed away, you stand up for them.”
Shardul further shared how many celebrities cashed in upon his demise. Very few people who were actually his friends got backlash and others who cashed upon it barely knew him. Krissann revealed, ‘The reason was that many producers refused to work with artists who spoke in favour. Yes, I was denied work. There was a lot that I lost and gained nothing. I will still stand up for friends.’
Shardul asked why nobody was asking for answers now. Krissann added, “My friends called me and asked me to shut up and not talk about Sushant, but I was sure that I won’t stop talking about my friend. When the prayer meeting happened, the press saw me wearing makeup but I had actually rushed from a shoot. I went to the prayer meeting and broke down. And I was asked to give an interview. People trolled me for that as well. Because they expected that I would leave work, go home, remove my makeup and follow the outfit.”
She further added, “Maybe it was Sushant giving me strength. Maybe he wanted to have his friends stand up for him. At that level, you don’t know who your friends are. Irrespective of the profession, I would do the exact thing for my friend. At this time, I just pray that he finds peace.”
