As Lewis Hamilton prepares for his final race with Mercedes at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend, he leaves the team after a 12-year stint filled with record-breaking victories and memories.
The 39-year-old won six of his seven championship titles with the Silver Arrows and helped them secure all eight of their constructors’ championships.
Behind the wheel of his Mercedes, the Briton won 84 races, finished on the podium 153 times, bagged 78 pole positions and recorded 55 fastest lap records.

It may have taken 10 races for Hamilton to snatch his first race win for Mercedes but it marked a turning point in their partnership. In the 2013 Hungarian Grand Prix, he claimed a pole-to-flag win, controlling the race and holding off Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, the eventual champion that year.

At the Silverstone race in 2020, Hamilton pulled away from the pack with ease, with a huge gap to the driver in second place, Max Verstappen. During the final laps, he suffered a puncture and was left without his front left tire. However, he managed to keep the car on track and limped across the finish line with three wheels.

Hamilton secured his 100th Formula 1 victory at the 2021 Russian Grand Prix in Sochi. The rain gods came to spoil the party, costing maiden pole-sitter Lando Norris dearly. Hamilton, who started from fourth, capitalised on changing weather conditions to become the only driver in the sport’s history to achieve the milestone.

Lewis Hamilton ended a 945-day win drought by claiming victory in the 2024 British Grand Prix. It was Mercedes front-row lockout with George Russell leading from his teammate. But poor weather conditions and a timely Safety Car interruption handed Hamilton an emotional and record-breaking ninth Silverstone win, the most by a driver at the same circuit.
