Light rain likely in parts of Kerala

Parts of central and southern Kerala are likely to receive isolated light summer spells of rain in the next few days powered by the easterlies and northeasterlies. The temperature may fall appreciably in parts of the State due to the rain.

According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday, light to moderate northeasterlies /easterlies prevail over Kerala in the lower tropospheric levels.

Rain occurred in one or two places in Kerala on Sunday and dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep. The maximum temperature fell appreciably in Kozhikode district and there was no large change in it elsewhere over Kerala during the past 24 hours, ending at 8.30 a.m. on Sunday. No large change has been reported in the minimum temperature over Kerala.

Vellanikkara recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36.4°C. Punalur recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 21.6°C, said the bulletin.
