NEW DELHI: The BJP on Friday released the fourth list of fifteen candidates in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for Lok Sabha elections.
The party is fielding Puducherry’s current home minister A Namassivayam for the 2024 elections.
BJP also announced 14 names for Tamil Nadu including actress Raadhika Sarathkumar from Virudhnagar , P Karthiyayini from Chidambaram (SC) constituency. Other names are Prof Raama Sreenivasan from Madurai, Pon V Balaganapathy from Tirruvallur, RC Paul Kanagaraj from Chennai North, A Ashwathaman from Tiruvannamalai, Dr KP Ramalingam from Namakkal, AP Muruganandam from Tiruppur, K Vasantharajan from Pollachi, VV Senthilnathan from Karur, SGM Ramesh from Nagapattinam (SC), M Muruganandam from Thanjavur, Dr Devanathan Yadav Sivaganga, B John Pandian from Tenkasi (SC) constituency.
The saffron party, which inked a pact with smaller parties and outfits, including TMC and AMMK and estranged AIADMK leader and former chief minister O Panneerselvam, would hope for a better performance in Tamil Nadu in Lok Sabha polls this year.
The party could not win a single seat in 2019 Lok Sabha polls when it contested in alliance with the AIADMK and PMK. The party won from Kanyakumari Lok Sabha seat in 2014. The party’s Tamil Nadu leaders, including state president K Annamalai, have launched all-out efforts to face the polls successfully.
Poised for a three-cornered battle, Tamil Nadu, along with Puducherry would go to polls on April 19 in a single-phase election. Tamil Nadu has 39 Lok Sabha constituencies while Puducherry has one.
