NEW DELHI: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that the portfolio allocation can take place either today or on Sunday.
Fadnavis made this statement during a press conference following the conclusion of the week-long winter session of the Maharashtra legislature.
“Portfolio distribution can take place by tonight or tomorrow morning,” Fadnavis said.
Earlier today, Maharashtra minister Bharat Gogawale said that the Mahayuti government’s portfolio allocation is anticipated during the day.
While Fadnavis and his deputy ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took their oaths on December 5, and 39 ministers were inducted before the Winter Session on December 15, the portfolio allocation in the Mahayuti government remains pending.
The Mahayuti, an alliance of the BJP, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party, achieved significant electoral success in the November 20 assembly elections, securing 230 seats out of the total 288.
