Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 Highlights: The election campaign is set to intensify with less than two weeks left for polling in Maharashtra. Top leaders from two major alliances have been addressing several rallies in a day to woo voters.

Addressing a rally in Nanded, PM Modi took a swipe at Rahul Gandhi and his party, Congress, and said the grand-old party wanted to run their parallel constitution. He also slammed the recent chaos in Jammu and Kashmir assembly over statehood to the UT where Congress is an ally of the ruling National Conference (NC).

Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar condemned derogatory remarks made against women during the campaigning and directed to take stern action against those making such comments.

The BJP is running as part of the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction and Ajit Pawar’s NCP. Opposing them is the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, comprising Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP), and the Congress party.

Elections to the 288-member legislative assembly will be held on November 20 and the votes will be counted on November 23.
