MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday said that smaller parties in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), like the Samajwadi Party, CPI, and CPI (M), have been invited for seat-sharing talks and that the MVA will take everyone along. Raut mentioned that all those parties that helped the MVA defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls will be included.
“Seat-sharing talks are ongoing between the three parties, and this will continue for another two days.On Wednesday, smaller parties like the Samajwadi Party, CPI, and CPI(M) came for talks. We have to take all alliance partners, even smaller parties who helped us in the Lok Sabha polls to defeat the BJP, will be included. We will fight the assembly polls together, and no figure has been decided. Whoever can win will be given the seat. Wherever the CPI wins a seat or the Samajwadi Party wins, they will get the seat. If they can win, they will get the seat. This formula is applicable to all,” Raut said.
‘We want to defeat the BJP and the traitor faction’
“We have a discussion on each assembly constituency. Each constituency has different aspects. Our discussions cover every constituency. We want to defeat the BJP and the traitor faction. Corruption and financial cartels are to be defeated. The whole picture will be clear by Dussehra. Elections must be held before November 26. Elections won’t be delayed. There is nothing going on between us to contest 200 seats or 100 seats. All the three parties and party bosses do not talk about numbers. We are all fighting together as MVA,” Raut said.
Raut had earlier stated that seat-sharing talks in the MVA will be finalised before Dussehra on October 12. Raut mentioned that seat-sharing talks were progressing smoothly and MVA functionaries were conducting marathon meetings to finalise a seat-sharing formula. MVA functionaries said the distribution between coalition partners for the ensuing assembly polls will be primarily based on the strength of each alliance partner in the different regions in the state.
