A 33-year-old man was bludgeoned to death by a group of unidentified men near Rajapur Colony in Kalaburagi late on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Revansiddappa Palekar.
According to sources, the incident took place when Palekar went with his friends for a smoke and clashes erupted between them and ended in the murder.
The police suspected that his friends are involved in the murder, as they are all absconding now.
A case has been registered at the Gulbarga University Police Station. investigation is on.
