KHARAGPUR: A death certificate has been issued in the name of the son of the deceased by Midnapore Medical College and Hospital, reports Sujoy Khanra.
After Uttam Nandi, 54, died at the hospital last November, his family applied for a death certificate. While the initial certificate issued by the hospital had the correct name, to the utter surprise of Uttam’s kin, the permanent one had the name of his younger son Balaram Nandi.The certificate was issued on Wednesday and the family has applied for correction.
“I have no idea how this could have happened,” said a stumped Balaram.
Hospital superintendent Jayanta Kumar Raut said he was not yet aware of the incident. “No one has informed me about this. There may have been a technical glitch. We will correct the error as soon as possible,” he said.
