Gusty winds uprooted a tree on Infantry Road on Wednesday evening injuring a man passing by.

The tree was fully uprooted by the wind and fell onto the pavement. The man sustained injuries to his shoulder and was rushed to Bowring Hospital, the officials said.

Traffic movement was affected briefly. The branches were cut and later removed from the road and pavement.

According to sources, despite multiple complaints, the BBMP had not taken action to prune or cut down aging trees. Several branches along Infantry Road remain precarious, posing a threat to commuters and pedestrians, shopkeepers on the road complained.

The BBMP Control Room reported three incidents of tree falls and four incidents of falling branches across the city. Flooding was reported on few roads in Bellandur.
