Indian pair of Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah lost 0-3 (9-11, 7-11, 9-11) to South Korea’s Jonghoon Lim and Junsung Oh in the WTT Contender Skopje 2025 men’s doubles final in North Macedonia on Sunday.

This was Manav and Manush’s first final at the contender level as a pair.

The first game was on even keel till the Indian paddlers pulled away to take a 9-6 lead. However, they conceded five consecutive points to concede the lead in the match.

It seemed that Manav and Manush would open their account in the final by winning the second game. However, the Koreans, leading 8-7, took a timeout after which two errors from the Indians saw Lim and Oh go 2-0 up in the match.

Third game saw the Indians take the first three points before the Koreas began to crawl back. Despite some resistance from the Indian duo, the Koreans comfortably wrapped up the game, and the match.

The Gujarat duo also missed the sixth season of the Ultimate Table Tennis, happening in Ahmedabad, due to commitments in other foreign leagues.
