Mandira Bedi, an actress, host, and motivational speaker, recently shared her early career day experiences with a renowned video platform, Official Humans of Bombay. At a young age, Mandira was one of the first female cricket anchors who showed the world that a woman can be an equally good cricket expert to a man. Over the years, she opened many doors for other women who also explored their potential as women anchors for cricket.

Speaking about her challenges, “When I got a call from Sony asking if I’d like to host the Cricket World Cup, my inner cricket fan was thrilled. I was the only woman on the cricket panel, but in the beginning, my question always remained unanswered. For a week, I was stumbling and stuttering, with no support. However, a pivotal conversation with the team changed everything. My team told me that they chose me out of thousands, so you’ve got this! That gave me the push I needed. I became more assertive. I remember Saif’s father, Mr. Pataudi, came to our studio and said, ‘You are the Mandira Bedi everyone’s talking about’ “.
Mandira emphasised the lessons she learned through this, “Heaven and hell is in your head. Rather than worrying about past mistakes or the future, live in the present. Respond to what’s happening now. Enjoy, love, and live the moment. And not everybody has to like you, and that’s alright.”
