GUWAHATI: Manipur CM N Biren Singh on Saturday said the Centre was set to take “some important decisions” in the interests of the state’s people, making the disclosure after meeting home minister Amit Shah in Delhi.
“Engaging in a profound exchange, we discussed matters of paramount importance concerning our state,” Singh wrote on X after the talks. Shah had visited the strife-torn state for three days in May last year in the wake of the ethnic clashes that broke out there early that month. He had met people from different sections of society in a bid to restore peace, but the situation remains grim.
Though violence has been controlled, sporadic attacks continue and more than 200 people have lost their lives.
