Distribution of cheques worth around ₹34.45 crore to as many as 40 families of land-losers towards compensation for the development of Mada streets around the historic Sree Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam began on Friday (March 28).
According to temple sources, the State government has sanctioned the amount to develop Mada streets as part of the master plan for comprehensive development of the historic temple popularly known as ‘south Ayodhya’.
Bhadrachalam Revenue Divisional Officer Damodar Rao on Friday handed over land acquisition cheques worth ₹10.82 crore to 17 families of land-losers in the temple town.
The remaining cheques will be disbursed to the rest of land-losers by Saturday.
