Another weather system in the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean is likely to cause light to moderate rain in the coastal districts of the State from December 8 to 12.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) a low pressure has formed on the morning of Saturday (December 7), over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining east Equatorial Indian Ocean under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards, become more marked during the next 24 hours, the IMD said. It is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards thereafter and reach over the southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri-Lanka–Tamil Nadu coasts around December 11.
Light to moderate rain is expected at a few places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, while moderate to heavy rain is expected in South Coastal A.P. and Rayalaseema, with heavy rain predicted for the two regions on December 11 and 12.
