Ponda: A speeding gravel carrying truck mowed down scooterist, a coconut plucker and injured two pillion riders at Gauthan-Piliyem in Dharbandora on Wednesday.
Subbelal Jak Singh, 34, a native of Madhya Pradesh was killed. Singh’s son, Saiesh and a friend, Dharmendra, were also hurt after they were thrown off the scooter.
The body was moved to the South Goa District hospital for a postmortem without completing a panchanama, police officer said.During the accident, police said, Singh was travelling to Pilliyem to drop Dharmendra.
An offence has been registered against Vaikunth Naik, 54, a truck driver under the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS). The case is being investigated by PSI Sushant Gaonkar.
