Munawar Faruqui, who won Bigg Boss 17 and is currently hosting gaming show Playground season 4 is making headlines. The comedian is reportedly on the ‘hit list’ of the Bishnoi gang. Due to the same, reports confirm that Mumbai police has increased his security.
Mumbai Police have heightened security for comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui following a ‘threat perception,’ sources revealed on Monday.A senior Mumbai Police officer confirmed, “We have provided him protection,” though they have not officially linked the threats to any particular group. However, reports speculate that the threats may be associated with the Bishnoi gang. This increase in security follows an incident in Delhi that occurred a few weeks ago.
In September, Munawar was scheduled to attend an event in Delhi when the Delhi Police’s Special Cell received specific intelligence about a possible attack targeting him. After being alerted, Munawar was pulled from the event and returned to Mumbai under police protection. The Mumbai Police were also informed of the situation, prompting them to escalate his security measures.
Sources further disclosed that the information regarding the potential threat came to light during an investigation into the murder of Delhi businessman Nadir Shah. An arrested shooter reportedly told police that they had conducted surveillance at a hotel where Munawar was supposed to stay while attending a match with fellow social media personality Elvish Yadav. This intelligence led the police to prioritize Munawar’s safety and ensure his secure return to Mumbai. The Mumbai Police remain vigilant, and Munawar Faruqui continues to be under enhanced security amid ongoing concerns.
