NEW DELHI: Former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren on Wednesday upped his ante against Hemant Soren-led government and accused it of withdrawing his security and putting his life at risk.
Taking to the news agency PTI, Soren said alleged that withdrawing his security vehicles was a political conspiracy.
“The Jharkhand government withdrew all security vehicles assigned to me, putting my life at risk, under a political conspiracy,” Champai said.
“I am not afraid of this move. The people of Jharkhand would provide security to me,” he added.
He asserted that he never compromised with his values and people will give a befitting reply to the JMM-led coalition in the assembly polls due later this year.
Responding to CM Hemant Soren‘s remarks that the BJP “bought” political leaders in Jharkhand, Champai Soren said, “No one can dare buy me. I have made crystal clear the circumstances behind leaving JMM.”
Soren resigned from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and joined BJP in August, stating that the state government’s “current style of functioning and policies” as the reasons for his departure from the party he had long served.
The former Saraikella MLA became the chief minister of Jharkhand on February 2, following Hemant Soren’s resignation and subsequent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case.
He resigned from the post on July 3, and Hemant Soren was sworn in as chief minister again on July 4, following his release on bail.
