The Golden State Warriors might have a more realistic and impactful trade option than Jimmy Butler. Instead of chasing the Miami Heat‘s 35-year-old forward, the Warriors should turn their attention to Bam Adebayo, a dominant two-way center who could immediately elevate their championship aspirations.
Golden State’s front office, led by general manager Mike Dunleavy, has been exploring ways to improve the roster around Stephen Curry. With Curry turning 36, the team needs a reliable star who can address their weaknesses, particularly in the frontcourt. Bam Adebayo, a three-time All-Star and five-time All-Defensive selection fits that profile perfectly.
Acquiring Adebayo would instantly solve multiple problems for the Golden State Warriors. His defensive presence alongside Draymond Green could form one of the best frontcourt tandems in the NBA, giving Golden State the ability to match up against powerhouse teams in the West. His versatility allows him to protect the rim, switch onto guards, and dominate the boards—areas where the Warriors have struggled.

Offensively, Bam Adebayo’s ability to set high-quality screens and finish at the rim makes him an ideal pick-and-roll partner for Curry. His rebounding and inside scoring would also take pressure off the Golden State Warriors’ smaller lineup, providing a much-needed balance.
Why Miami Heat might be open to a deal
While Bam Adebayo has been a crucial part of Miami’s success, the Miami Heat could consider moving him due to the emergence of rookie center Kel’el Ware. If Ware continues to develop, Miami may see an opportunity to reshuffle its roster by acquiring key assets from Golden State.
The Golden State Warriors, in turn, could construct a trade package centered around Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson’s expiring contract to match salaries. Additionally, Golden State would likely include a young player such as Brandin Podziemski or Moses Moody, along with future first-round picks to sweeten the deal. Compared to the complex negotiations required for a Butler trade, securing Bam Adebayo appears to be a more straightforward option.

Curry’s best years are coming to a close, therefore the Golden State Warriors need to move quickly if they hope to win another championship. Although they have looked into other trade options, adding a defensive stalwart like Bam Adebayo might be the secret to regaining their status as serious contenders in the Western Conference. The Warriors might establish themselves as one of the league’s most well-rounded teams if Dunleavy and the front office can close a deal.
