NH construction will be around 13,000 km by March this year and all NH stretches in plain terrains will be made at least two- and-half lanes in the next 4-5 years, Union road transport secretary Anurag Jain said. Citing how huge govt investment with more than 9-fold increase in Budget allocation over the last 10 years has accelerated cons- truction, he said share of single-lane highways has come down to 10% of entire 1.1 lakh km NH network comp- ared to 30% in 2014-15.
