Dubbing the speculation as “baseless”, Ramesh Bidhuri emphasised on serving the public as a dedicated party worker.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ramesh Bidhuri on Sunday dismissed the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) claim that he is the party’s candidate for the Chief Minister’s post in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
Dubbing the speculation as “baseless”, the BJP leader emphasised on serving the public as a dedicated party worker.
In a letter as shared by news agency PTI, Bidhuri categorically refuted the claim and denied any personal ambition for the top post.
“I am as dedicated to the people as I am to my party. Talks about the chief minister’s role for me are totally baseless. I will continue to work timelessly as your servant,” the letter read.

The BJP leader also said he is a “loyal worker” of the party. “The party has constantly blessed me and expressed trust in me. While I was holding important responsibilities for twenty-five years, the party made me an MP twice and an MLA thrice and has given me the opportunity to come to your door for the fourth time,” he said.
Bidhuri further said that AAP has dished out a misleading propaganda against him. He further took a dig over AAP leaders saying that the party has indirectly acknowledged that the BJP is forming a government in Delhi by naming him as the Chief Minister.
“By making declarations about me, Arvind Kejriwal has indirectly acknowledged that the BJP is forming the government in Delhi, and he has accepted defeat because it is evident that the people of Delhi are widely dissatisfied with him. People want to free themselves from the clutches of the liquor scam, education scam, healthcare scam, the Sheesh Mahal controversy, broken roads, and dirty drinking water. They want the BJP government in Delhi,” the letter added.
What AAP Leaders Claimed?
While addressing a press conference on Saturday, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal reiterated the claim that the saffron camp has decided to project its leader Ramesh Bidhuri as the party’s chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls. He had also congratulated the BJP leader and had asked him for his vision for the national capital. He had challenged Bidhuri to a public debate to let Delhiites decide who is better equipped to lead.
“We are getting information that Ramesh Bidhuri’s name will be officially announced (as BJP CM face) in the coming one or two days. I congratulate Ramesh Bidhuri on becoming the CM face of BJP. Ramesh Bidhuri should tell what he did for the development of Delhi while being an MP. What is his vision for Delhi?” Kejriwal said while addressing the press conference.
A day earlier, Delhi CM Atishi had also claimed that her Kalkaji rival Ramesh Bidhuri will be the BJP’s CM pick. She said that this was Bidhuri’s “reward” for being the “most abusive” leader of his party.
Ramesh Bidhuri’s Recent Controversies
The BJP MP was recently embroiled in controversy over his remarks against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and the Delhi CM Atishi.
While addressing a gathering during the campaigning, he said that Atishi “changed her father” by changing her surname from “Marlena” to “Singh”.
Earlier, he courted another controversy claiming that if the BJP is voted to power in Delhi assembly, it will build smooth roads “like Priyanka Gandhi’s cheeks” in the constituency.
