NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Tuesday issued notice to Delhi Police on a bail plea filed by Neelam Azad, one of the accused in the Parliament breach case.
Additional sessions judge Hardeep Kaur sought a response from Delhi Police’s Special Cell and scheduled the next hearing for January 10.
Azad, in her plea, alleged that she was produced in court 29 hours after her arrest outside the Parliament House on December 13, 2023, violating Article 22 of Constitution, which sets procedures of arrest and safeguards.
Azad claims not being given adequate time to discuss the circumstances of her arrest with her counsel appointed by the District Legal Services Authority. She added that a single DLSA counsel was appointed for all six accused in the case without giving them choice.
