Daniel Bryan is known as one of the best technical wrestlers in the world of professional wrestling. Although he’s departed from the WWE and is currently signed to the AEW, he’s still left an impressive mark on the Stamford-based promotion.
During his time with the company, Daniel Bryan had several interesting matches, including the ones when he teamed up with Kane to form Team Hell No. During his run with the company, Bryan turned heel too, when he stole the WWE Championship from AJ Styles after winning a match with a low blow. But that set the stage perfectly for a feud that would be memorable for both the wrestlers and the wrestling fraternity at large.
Which Wrestler Has Praised Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan?
The wrestler we’re talking about here is Kofi Kingston. His title victory was historic and was celebrated by fans of the New Day and wrestling fans in general. Here, Daniel Bryan played the wonderful role of a heel and put Kingston over extremely well, that immediately pushed him with the fans.
While Kofi was by no means a dull wrestler, he didn’t have that wind behind him. Defeating Bryan for the championship gave him the wind that he needed, pushing him as one of the top stars in the organisation.
Kofi Kingston’s victory made him the first African-born wrestler to hold a WWE Championship title and his first title victory too. His victory at Wrestlemania was iconic. Reminiscing about the feud, Kofi had nothing but good words to say about the American Dragon during an interview with In The Kilq podcast.
Kofi Kingston On Why New Day Turned Their Backs On Big E, Original WrestleMania Plans, Daniel Bryan
He said, “Daniel Bryan, I think, is one of the greatest. He’s got to be in the top-five of all time for a lot of different reasons. His resiliency. He’s a guy who broke his neck and came back when people said that he wasn’t going to be able to do it, you have to admire someone that can do that.”
He further stated, “On top of that, too, he’s somebody who doesn’t really seek any credit, you know what I’m saying? He does a lot of things. He had a lot to do with why I was even in that position. I know he had gone to bat for me to be in that position, because that’s what the people wanted. So I know he was a very big advocate of that, and he’ll never tell you that, he’ll never brag about that, because that’s not what his purpose in doing that was. It was just about doing the right thing, and I’m always grateful for that.”
Kofi and Xavier Woods have currently removed Big E from their stable, while Daniel Bryan is away from AEW for the time being. Both these wrestlers are extremely talented, and where their future takes them, remains to be seen.
