NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi said on Saturday today’s politics has become performance-oriented and people have clearly stated that only those connected to the ground and delivering results will sustain.
“Tikega wahi jo zameen se juda rahega (only those who show results on the ground and are aligned with people’s aspirations will survive)”, said PM Modi. He referred to the outcome of Delhi polls where the BJP defied odds to storm to power after 27 years and said the results showed people are attuned to the goal of India becoming a developed country.
He said govts must be sensitive to people’s problems and noted that previous policymakers lacked sensitivity and will power. Modi was speaking at the ET Now Global Business Summit. “After the formtion of the govt at the Centre, in many states, BJP and the NDA are being blessed by the people,” referring to the victories in recent state polls. He said the pace of achieving the goal of a developed nation had gathered momentum and the people have supported the efforts.
Modi added his govt has understood people’s issues with sensitivity and taken necessary steps with passion and enthusiasm to resolve them. He said people had elected BJP and NDA in Odisha, Haryana and Delhi. “People have supported us in large numbers. This is an acknowledgement people of the country are working together for Viksit Bharat (developed nation).”
