Terrorists opened fire at a famed meadow near Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon (April 22, 2025), killing at least 26 people, mostly tourists, in what appears to be the deadliest attack in the Valley since the Pulwama strike in 2019.

The attack took place in the Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, where people from various parts of India had gathered for vacation.
The attack was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), frontal outfit of Pakistan backed terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The group was created in August 2019 after the revocation of Article 370 to escape international scrutiny.
The Pahalgam victims included two foreigners – one from the UAE and the other from Nepal – and two locals. All 26 victims were men.
