PANCHKULA: Burglars broke into a house, a temple, and a liquor vend in different parts of Panchkula and escaped with cash and gold ornaments. Based on the statements of the victims, the Panchkula police registered three separate cases against unknown persons under the sections of BNS and started a probe.
The complainant, Sandeep Singla, a resident of Sector-12 A, Panchkula, reported that he has another house in the same sector in Panchkula, which he rented out to Kapish Rathi since August 2023. Kapish Rathi lives there with his family and was in his hometown, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, for the past 15-20 days.
On December 26, 2024, at around 5.45 pm, the victim’s tenant called him and informed him that his maid, who went to clean the house, reported that the door latch was broken from the outside and asked him to check it out.
When Sandeep Singla arrived at the house, he found everything scattered around, and cash around Rs 10,000 and some gold ornaments were stolen. He reported the matter to the police, and the Sector 14 police registered a case against unknown persons and started a probe.
In a separate case, Krishna Kumar, a resident of Rajjipur village, Pinjore, Panchkula, stated he is a partner in the Jaykalika firm, which has a liquor vend in Pinjore. Sunil Kumar and Pramod Kumar, residents of Kangra, HP, are salesmen at this vend.
On December 26, 2024, Sunil Kumar informed Krishna Kumar that during the night, an unknown person broke the shutter of the liquor vend and stole cash around Rs. 16,000 from the cash box. On his complaint, the Pinjore police registered a case against unknown persons and were investigating the matter.
Another resident of village Hangola, Raipur Rani, Panchkula, Shubham Sharma, stated that he is a member of the committee of the Goga Maadi Temple in his village.
On December 26, 2024, at around 6.00 am, Ram Niwas, the priest of the temple, went to the temple to perform a prayer and found the donation box lock broken and the box open, with cash around Rs. 4,000 stolen.
Afterwards, Ram Niwas called him, and he reached the temple. Shubham Sharma informed the police about the theft, and Raipur Rani police station registered a case against unknown persons and started a probe.
