The second leg of the Parliament Budget Session began on Monday (March 10, 2025) with disruptions over the alleged ‘Hindi’ language imposition. Tensions soared in the Lok Sabha after DMK members staged protests over Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s remarks that the Tamil Nadu government was “dishonest” on the issue of implementing the PM Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme.

Senior Congress leaders met to deliberate on the party’s strategy during the second part of the Budget session, resolving to take up in a big way the voter list manipulation issue and strongly oppose the National Education Policy 2020, sources said. The Opposition party will also oppose the Waqf (Amendment) Bill if it comes up for a discussion and passage, and will registers it concerns over delimitation exercise.
