Parliament Budget Session Day 2 LIVE Updates: Four bills will be taken up for discussion in Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Further, the Lok Sabha will have an hour-long discussion on the statutory resolution seeking approval of the proclamation of President’s Rule in Manipur. The Lok Sabha will take up a discussion on the Manipur budget, presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, from Tuesday.

The first day of the second part of the Parliament Budget Session witnessed a confrontation between the opposition and the government over National Education Policy in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, opposition parties led by the Congress demanded a detailed discussion in Parliament on the doubts that have arisen on the integrity of the electoral process after alleged discrepancies in voter lists, with Rahul Gandhi raising the issue in the Lok Sabha. Gandhi said that the voter lists “are being questioned across the country” and the entire opposition has been demanding a discussion on the matter.

The government is keen on the passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Parliament, which is likely to be another point of friction between the Opposition and the treasury benches.

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned on February 13, marking the end of the first part of the session.
