BATHINDA: After the intervention of the state government, the supplies of petroleum products (petrol, diesel) resumed from oil depots of Indian Oil Corporation (IOL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) under police protection on Tuesday evening. Bathinda Deputy Commissioner Showkat Ahmad Parray and Senior Superintendent of Police Harmanbir Singh Gill held meeting with representatives of oil companies and the drivers. They assured the drivers not to worry about their safety and assured to provide police protection when they take supplies to any place across the state from oil depots.
However, the long queues were still seen at various petrol stations as the supplies had not reached at all the petrol stations till early evening.
The district officials asked the people not to panic and wait for supplies at all the petrol stations as the supplies have resumed but may take time in reaching to every place even as there is no shortage of petroleum products.
