Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the oath-taking ceremony of the Maharashtra Chief Minister where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran Devendra Fadnavis was sworn-in with Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) Ajit Pawar as deputies.
The event held at Azad Maidan was a show of power of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with alliance partners and chief ministers from other BJP-ruled states also attending.
Tinsel town megastars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Shraddha Kapoor were also in attendance. Cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar was also present.
In attendance was Reliance Industries’ Mukesh Ambani with his son Anant Ambani and daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant.
Fadnavis took oath as the chief minister of the state for the third time in a grand and spectacular ceremony held this evening at the sprawling Azad Maidan in south Mumbai. Shiv Sena president Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Ajit Pawar were sworn-in as the deputy chief ministers.
The chief ministers of several NDA-ruled states, including Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Nitish Kumar (Bihar), Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand), Nayab Singh Saini (Haryana), Bhupendra Patel (Gujarat) and Pramod Sawant (Goa) also attended the ceremony.
BJP president J P Nadda, Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Ramdas Athawale, were also present at the event.
