NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Croatia early Wednesday, marking the final stop of his three-nation tour after wrapping up a productive visit to Canada, where he participated in the G7 Summit held in Kananaskis, Alberta.At the summit venue, the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, PM Modi was welcomed by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney where joined leaders of the G7 bloc in meaningful exchanges on pressing global challenges and shared India’s vision for a sustainable and peaceful future. “Concluding a productive Canada visit. Thankful to the Canadian people and Government for hosting a successful G7 Summit, which witnessed fruitful discussions on diverse global issues,” he said in a post on X on Tuesday.He arrived in Calgary on Monday evening from Cyprus, marking his first visit to Canada in a decade.On the sidelines of the G7, PM Modi held bilateral talks with several world leaders including Canadian PM Carney, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, French President Emmanuel Macron, UK prime minister Keir Starmer, Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni, and Australian prime minister Anthony Albanese. These meetings focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, economy, and strategic sectors.In his meeting with Carney, PM Modi emphasised the importance of strong India-Canada relations and called for deeper collaboration across various areas.
