LUCKNOW: Responding to demands from family members for a post-mortem conducted by a panel of doctors from AIIMS Delhi, the Banda administration arranged for gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari‘s autopsy to be carried out by a team of five doctors, including one from PGI.
The entire procedure was meticulously recorded on video from multiple angles and concluded on Friday evening.

A senior police official revealed that the post-mortem report cited myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, as the cause of Ansari’s death, with samples preserved for further chemical analysis.

“We have adhered to all mandatory protocols and standard operating procedures for conducting autopsies in cases involving the deaths of convicts and prisoners,” stated the official.

Following this, Ansari’s body was escorted by heavy police security to his hometown in Mohammadabad, Ghazipur district, covering a journey of 400 kilometers. A convoy of 26 vehicles was organized, with a route passing through Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Kokhraj Handia Bypass, Bhadohi, and finally reaching Ghazipur via Varanasi. Alongside the ambulance carrying Ansari’s body, police and administrative officials ensured a secure and smooth passage, with family members’ vehicles also part of the convoy.
