NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the Dalai Lama on Saturday on occasion of the spiritual leader‘s 89th birthday.

The Dalai Lama, a revered religious leader with a global following, has been living in exile in India since 1959 after fleeing Tibet following its annexation by China.
Currently in the US recovering from knee-replacement surgery, he shared in his birthday message that he is physically fit and remains committed to serving Lord Buddha’s teachings.
