Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a Muslim community delegation on Thursday at his official residence at Lok Kalyan Marg and offered a ceremonial cloth (chadar) intended for the tomb of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti during the Ajmer Urs. This sacred offering is to be presented at the tomb with utmost reverence and respect.
The delegation included notable scholars like Janab Kalbe Rushaid Sayed Rizvi among others, who is a social reformer hailing from Bihar, recognized as a cherished figure within the societal fabric of the state. Prime Minister engaged in discussions on various topics, addressing several schemes aimed at benefiting the underprivileged, emphasizing the importance of these matters with a serious tone.
During a dedicated meeting with the Prime Minister, Dr Rizvi shared that he participated in the event alongside Satnam Singh Sandhu, the Convenor of the National Minority Foundation, and Madam Himani Shud. The Prime Minister had personally witnessed both programs.
It’s noteworthy that PM Modi consistently sends a sheet for this Urs each year, which is then offered at the Mazaar during the Urs. Union minority welfare minister Smriti Irani was also present alongside the Muslim community members during this occasion.
