A man involved in two theft cases was arrested by the Kukatpally police and Balanagar Central Crime Station (CCS) on Wednesday. The police seized a gold chain weighing eight grams from him.
The accused, Kotti Sai Ram, 28, a native of Krishna district, moved to Hyderabad about a month ago after landing in a private job. Unable to pay his hostel fee, he started committing burglaries.
On January 3, he stole a two-wheeler parked beside Omni Hospital in Kukatpally and next day he snatched the gold chain from the complainant when she was travelling towards Vivekanandanagar Colony, the police said.
Footage from over 180 CCTV cameras along the escape route and other technical evidence were used to identify the accused.
